భగవద్గీతా కించిదధీతా -1

భగవద్గీత కు ఎందరో మహానుభావులు వ్రాసిన అనేక తాత్పర్యాలు అనువాదాలు, వ్యాఖ్యానాలు, ప్రవచనాలు అందుబాటులో ఉన్నాయి.

శిష్ట్లా సుబ్బారావు గారు వ్రాసిన వ్యాఖ్యాన సహిత అనువాదం అనేక సంవత్సరాల క్రితం తితిదే వారు  ప్రచురించారు. ఈ పుస్తకం వ్రాసిన విధానం బాగుంది. సూటిగా స్పష్టంగా రచయితకు వివరణ ఇవ్వాలి అనిపించిన చోట మాత్రమే విస్తరిస్తూ, శ్లోకాలలో దాగిఉన్న భావాలను విశదీకరిస్తూ సాగుతుంది. లోతైన విషయాలను కూడా సులభగ్రాహ్యంగా వివరించడం జరిగింది.

ముఖ్యంగా సుబ్బారావు గారు వ్రాసిన ఉపోద్ఘాతం ఉన్నతంగా ఉంది.

భగవద్గీత కర్మ , భక్తి, జ్ఞాన మార్గాలలో ఏ మార్గాన్ని ఆచరించమంటుంది అన్న విషయాన్ని రచయిత వివరించిన తీరు సముచితంగా సమంజసంగా అనిపించింది.

భగవద్గీత లో శ్రీకృష్ణుడు అర్జునునికి ధర్మాన్ని కాపాడటం కోసం యుద్ధం చేయమని చెప్పడం వెనుక ఉన్న అంతరార్థాన్ని చక్కగా వివరించారు.

A few thoughts.  As a commoner I expressed my views as per my current understanding. 

My observation is that our views get revised on knowing the higher truth. We should always be open to review and feedback. The journey continues. Or else we stop growing as a person.

అహింసా పరమో ధర్మః అన్న వాక్యం సర్వసంగ పరిత్యాగులకు, సన్యాసులకు సర్వదా వర్తిస్తుంది. పాలకులకు, సామాన్య ప్రజలకు అన్ని వేళలా వర్తించదు. 

అకారణంగా జీవహింస చేయడం,ఇతరులను బాధించడం పాపం. అయితే, శత్రువుల నుండి, దుర్మార్గుల నుండి స్వీయ రక్షణార్థం, ప్రజల రక్షణ కోసం, దేశం కోసం, స్వధర్మ రక్షణ కోసం, కుటుంబ సభ్యులను కాపాడుకోవటానికి  యుద్ధం చేయడం, దుష్టులను దండించడం, నిర్జించడం తప్పుకాదు.

అధర్మ పరులను శిక్షించడం, ప్రజలను రక్షించడం అన్నది పాలకుల కర్తవ్యం. అలాగే తన స్వంత మనుషులను, కుటుంబ సభ్యులను రక్షించుకోవడం గృహస్థు ధర్మం.

మన పురాణాలు, ఇతిహాసాలు అన్నింటిలోనూ దుష్ట శిక్షణ శిష్ట రక్షణ ప్రధానమైన అంశంగా చెప్పబడింది.

Unfortunately the principle of non violence was misinterpreted during our independence movement. No doubt it is the highest ideal to be achieved. Not so while dealing with adharma. The ideal ordained for an ascetic can't be the same for rulers or householders. 

In fact Papam accrues to one who abdicates his responsibility to fight adharma. This is the essential teaching of Krishna in Bhagawad Geeta.

Krishna exhorts Arjuna to fight a dharmic battle by clearing Arjuna's misplaced sympathy and temporary delusion.

గీతను బాగా అధ్యయనం చేసిన కొంతమంది గొప్పవారు కూడా గీతాసారాన్ని గ్రహించలేక పోయారేమో అనిపిస్తుంది. 

20 వ శతాబ్దం నుంచి హిందువులను క్షాత్ర ధర్మం నుంచి దూరం చేశారు అనిపిస్తుంది.

Pacifism has been imposed on our collective psyche.

Paradox of intolerance.

"Philosopher Karl Popper described the paradox of tolerance as the seemingly counterintuitive idea that “in order to maintain a tolerant society, the society must be intolerant of intolerance.” 

అధార్మిక విశ్వాసాలను సహించడం, ఉపేక్షించడం, అధర్మ పరులను శిక్షించక  పోవడం వల్ల అంతిమంగా సమాజానికి తీరని నష్టం జరుగుతుంది.

Our constitution should have been based on Sanatana Dharma to protect our civilizational nation. Bhagawad Gita should have been our guiding text. Instead our political leaders adopted a pseudo secular approach which is the reason why Sanatana Dharma is facing existential crisis now. 

సార్వజనీన మైన, సార్వకాలీనమైన సత్యాలు, ఉపదేశాలు భగవద్గీతలో ఉన్నాయి. అందుకే దేశ,కాల, మత, ప్రాంత, వర్గ భావనలకు అతీతంగా భగవద్గీత వేల సంవత్సరాలుగా నిజమైన సత్యాన్వేషకులకు దిక్సూచిగా నిలిచింది . మార్గదర్శనం చేస్తుంది.

భగవద్గీత ఇహం, పరం రెండిటికీ ఉపయోగపడే ఉపదేశం ఇస్తుంది. వ్యక్తిగా ఎదుగుతూ సమాజ శ్రేయస్సు కోసం జీవించే విధానం చూపుతుంది.

అలాగే అద్వైత, ద్వైత, విశిష్టాద్వైత సిద్ధాంతాల మేలు కలయికగా అనిపిస్తుంది.

భగవద్గీతలో ఉన్న అనేక అమూల్యమైన సందేశాలు, వాక్యాల గురించి ఒక సామాన్యుడి దృష్టికోణంలో మరొక వ్యాసం వ్రాయాలి అన్న సంకల్పం ఉంది.

సీతారామం చిత్రం - ఒక అభిప్రాయం

సీతారామం is a beautiful musical tale of a princess charming. Of course the prince is endearing as well. One of the few wholesome and well made movies in recent times.

Good screenplay and direction, soulful- melodious -lilting music, good acting by the lead actors, beautiful photography and locations, interesting story and storytelling. What more one can ask for in a movie. 

Such movies 🎥 are any director's dream come true. 

హను రాఘవపూడి మంచి అభిరుచి ఉన్న దర్శకుడు . Mani ratnam influence is visible in Hanu's movies . In fact he excelled  his guru in this movie.  

Hanu must have worked with passion to write such wonderful screenplay and story. 

We may recall some scenes of Roja, Bombay, nayakan , mouna ragam, Dil se while watching సీతా రామం.

To envision such a movie is one thing and to execute it perfectly is another. Producers deserve praise for believing in the director's vision and backing it. 

The movie comes out as a beautiful painting.

Yes. There is some monkey balancing to appear secular. Should have shown our army in a more positive manner. Part played by Sumanth is not so convincing. 

Mrunal Thakur gets a once in lifetime author backed role which many actors dream of and does a fabulous job.

Dulquer Salman is endearing and makes us smile and cry. In the end we may end up believing that the story really happened and our prince charming sacrificed his life for the sake of our nation and hope against hope that he comes back.

Supporting actors rashmika mandanna, tarun Bhaskar and vennela Kishore too did a good job.

After a long time I saw the movie in theatre. It is a big screen movie.

The poignant climax is shot well and we leave the hall with emotion filled hearts.

My eyes swelled with tears in some scenes.

A very significant aspect of this movie is outstanding musical score by Vishal Chandrasekhar. In fact this movie can be called a musical. Songs are so melodious and visual feast as well.

కన్నుల్లోని కలలు అన్ని - a beautiful song with lyrics by sirivennela.

The beautiful use of chorus and Veena by the composer is commendable.

ఇంతందం - another gem with a beautiful chorus of children.

Sita ramam jukebox

S P Charan surprised me with two beautiful songs. He sang with crystal clear voice and immaculate pronunciation. He deserves appreciation. 

This movie deserves national awards for music, screenplay, direction, playback singers and both lead actors. I hope for the same. This movie got well deserved appreciation from everyone and loved by the audience across India.

సీతా రామం has many magical moments and nostalgic value. A thing of beauty is joy forever.

Best songs of ఇళయరాజా - my choice.

1977 నుంచి ఇళయరాజా సంగీతాన్ని విని ఆస్వాదిస్తూ, 80-90 లలో విశ్వరూపం దాల్చడం, 2000 తరువాత మునుపటి మెరుపు తగ్గి పోవడం గమనిస్తూ వచ్చాను. 

1978-79 లలో వేసవి సెలవులలో మద్రాసు వెళ్లినప్పుడు సెందాళం పూవిల్, సామ కోళి ఏ కూవుదమ్మా, ఇళమై ఎనుమ్ పూంగాట్రు, en kanmani en kaadali .. పాటలు వినిపించేవి. అప్పటికి ఇళయరాజా అంటే తెలియదు. అయితే ఆ పాటలు చాలా నచ్చాయి. Later slowly got acquainted and became a fan of Ilayaraja music.

ఎన్నో పాటలు bgm తో సహా ఇప్పటికీ గుర్తు ఉన్నాయి నాకు. 

సృజనాత్మక కళాకారుల పనితీరు parabolic గా సాగడం సహజమైన విషయమే. అయితే తగిన సమయంలో ఏ పాత్ర లోకి మారాలి అన్నది వారు నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. 

రచన, సంగీతం, శిల్పం, చిత్రం, నాట్యం... ఏ కళా రూపమైనా సరే... When the artiste and audience are on the same wavelength, the artwork becomes successful. Over a period of time artists evolve and audience change their preferences. 

ఆయన 4000 పాటలు స్వరపరచి ఉంటే అందులో 800 పాటలు ఉత్తమ మైనవి, 200 పాటలు అత్యుత్తమమైనవి ఉంటాయి అని నా అభిప్రాయం. Phenomenal achievement indeed.

అందులో నేను అమితంగా అభిమానించే పాటల జాబితా చేయాలి అనిపించింది. Most of these songs are timeless classics. I have only put together the diamonds into a necklace. By no means I would say that I have curated the best list. 

ప్రతి ఇళయరాజా అభిమానికి తన ప్రత్యేక జాబితా ఉంటుంది. అయితే, తమిళ, తెలుగు, కన్నడ, మలయాళ, హిందీ భాషలలో ఆయన పాటలు విన్న అనుభవం ఉంది కాబట్టి this list may be in order.

1) మాటే మంత్రము / కాదల్ ఓవియం -1981 - సీతాకోక చిలుక - SPB - SPS / IR - Jency. 

This song is unanimously accepted as the jewel in the crown. Ethereal, timeless classic. Bgms will stay with us for life. Both Telugu and Tamil versions are good.

2) జానకి కలగనలేదు - రాజ్ కుమార్. - 1982 - SPB - P సుశీల. A song forever.

ఆరభి/ శుద్ధ సావేరి రాగాలు అంటే నాకు ప్రత్యేకమైన అభిమానం. ఈ పాట బాణీ, interludes, vocals, lyrics అద్భుతం. ఇంత గొప్ప పాట  చిత్రీకరణ తగినట్లుగా లేదు. ఈ  పాట లో కూడా steps పెట్టిన వారికి జేజేలు.

ఇదే చిత్రం లోని తొలి చూపు చెలి రాసిన శుభలేఖ పాట కూడా చాలా మంచి గీతం.

3) పరువమే పుదియ పాడల్ పాడ - నెంజత్తై కిళ్ళాదే - 1980 - SPB - SJ

Just listen to the interludes of this song sitting in your favourite spot . Over and over again. 

4) జొతెయలి జొతె జొతెయలి - గీత (కన్నడ) - 1981 - SPB - SJ

A beautiful duet song. What a brilliant tune. Observe the way SPB sings. He just breathes life into this song.

5) కీరవాణి చిలకల కొలికిరో పాడవేమే - అన్వేషణ 1984 - SPB - SJ. 

Probably the best song ever composed in keeravani ragam. Mind-blowing music. Great tune, singing, lyrics, acting and picturisation. A perfect song. 

కీరవాణి రాగం లో ఇళయరాజా అనేక మధుర గీతాలు ఇచ్చాడు. అందులో ఈ పాట ప్రత్యేకమైనది.

6) జననీ జననీ జగం నీ అగం నీ - తాయి మూకాంబిక - 1982 - ఇళయరాజా.

శరీరాన్ని, మనసును దాటి ఆత్మకు చేరువయ్యే పాటలు ఎన్నో ఉండవు. అలాంటి అలౌకిక ఆనందాన్ని కలిగించే పాట. కల్యాణి రాగం లో ఉన్న అతి గొప్ప పాటలలో ఒకటి. పాటలో వచ్చే వీణ పలుకులు అతి మధురం. ఇళయరాజా చాలా అద్భుతంగా పాడాడు. 

7) వందదే ఓ కుంగుమం - కిళక్కు వాసల్ - 1990 - చిత్ర

అతి మధురమైన గీతం. చిత్ర అద్భుతంగా పాడారు. Lilting music with beautiful chorus and interludes . Difficult to leave out another iconic song in this movie sung by SPB - పచ్చమల పూవు. 

8) ఇన్నుమ్ ఎన్నై ఎన్న సేయ పోగిరాయ్ - సింగార వేలన్ - 1992 - SPB - SJ

ఈ పాట తిలాంగ్ రాగం ఆధారం గా స్వరపచబడింది. పాట ప్రారంభం లో వచ్చే prelude is magic. Ilayaraja composed many contemporary songs based on classical ragams. This is one of the best.

9) తాలాట్టుదే వానం తల్లాడుదే మేగం - కడల్ మీన్ గళ్ - 1981 - S Janaki - P Jayachandran

This song is my personal favourite. All time classic. 

10) తెండ్రల్ వందు తీండుంబోదు -  అవతారం - 1997. - S Janaki Ilayaraja.  

Probably the last song of Ilayaraja which has the original stamp of the genius. Great music singing and picturisation by director and actor nazar.

11) కళ్యాణ తేన్ నిలా - మౌనం సమ్మదమే - 1989 - జేసుదాసు - చిత్ర. Quintessential duet song. A veritable lesson on how to compose a duet sung by the legendary singers Yesudas and chitra.

12) పొంగి పొరలే అందాలెన్నో - కొత్త జీవితాలు - 1980 - SPB SJ

One of the finest songs which showcased the genius of the composer. Add to that great singing by SPB and SJ , picturisation and lyrics. 

We can name many such brilliant compositions.

The list goes on. 

Post 1998 , Ilayaraja gradually lost the mojo. He became a pale shadow of himself. He still gave music for many movies since 2000 too. Don't think they are anywhere near his work during 80s. -90s. In my opinion, he could not assimilate the world music as Rahaman did. 

He is a old school composer who is a master in using conventional instruments like violins, flute etc. Whereas his use of keyboards and electronic instruments is not so good.

Inexplicably his tunes post 2000 lacked the melody and spark of vintage Ilayaraja barring a few. Nonetheless the huge number of great songs he composed  in yester years stays with every music lover forever.

అయితే

He had his own set of ego clashes and disputes even with persons he closely collaborated for decades.

His Legal notice to SPB was not proper.

He spoiled many beautiful songs with his gruff voice. Those songs would have sounded far better in the voice of SPB or Yesudas. A composer need not sing when competent singers are there.

He was fortunate to have legendary singers PS, SJ, SPB, Yesudas, VJ, Chitra who brought life to his tunes. Ordinary singers will kill a great tune. Great singers can lift even an ordinary tune .

One more aspect I observed is that IR rarely praised or appreciated singers and other composers.

In interviews his answers tend to be irrelevant and irreverent. 

Still he is a genius composer. Feel blessed to be born in the same era of the genius.

The maestro will enter 80s shortly. He deserves to be honoured with Dada saheb Phalke award and Oscar lifetime achievement award.

ప్రపంచ జనాభాలో భారతదేశం ప్రథమ స్థానం - కొన్ని ఆలోచనలు.

(2017 లో దేశాల వారీగా  జనాభా  సూచించే చిత్రం )

Yes. we did it. ప్రపంచ జనాభాలో మనమే నంబర్ వన్. 

1947 లో మన జనాభా 34 కోట్లు. 1990 లో 87 కోట్లు. 2023 లో 142.8 కోట్లకు చేరుకుంది.

ఈ విషయం లో మనం చైనా ను అధిగమించాము. చైనా ఈ విషయం జీర్ణించుకోలేక పోతున్నది.

జనచైనా అని మురిసిపోయే వామపక్ష వాదులు చింతాక్రాంతులైనారు.

మన దేశ వైశాల్యం, వనరుల లభ్యత ప్రకారం 30-35 కోట్ల జనాభా ఉంటే బాగుంటుంది అని ఒక అంచనా.

110 కోట్లు అధికంగా ఉన్నాము. అయినా ఓకే. సర్దుకుపోతున్నాము.

ప్రపంచ వైశాల్యం లో 2.4 % ఉన్న భారత దేశం, ప్రపంచ జనాభాలో దాదాపు 18 %  కలిగిఉంది.

ఒక విధంగా అధిక జనాభాయే భారతీయ సంస్కృతి వేల ఏళ్లుగా మనగలగడానికి కారణం అనిపిస్తుంది. అయితే ఒక స్థాయిని మించి పెరగటం సమస్యగా మారుతుంది.

యువతీ యువకులు పెళ్లి చేసుకునే వయసు పెరిగింది. అలాగే  ఒకరు లేక ఇద్దరు పిల్లలు చాలు అనుకుంటున్నారు. అయితే కొన్ని రాష్ట్రాలు,  గ్రామీణ ప్రాంతాలలో, కొన్ని వర్గాల వారిలో సంతాన ఉత్పత్తి జాతీయ సగటు కంటే అధికంగా ఉంది.

2050  నాటికి భారత దేశ జనాభా స్థిరీకరణ జరిగి తగ్గుముఖం పడుతుంది అని అంచనా. అయితే అప్పుడు వృద్ధుల సంఖ్య శాతం పెరిగే అవకాశం ఉంది. జపాన్, చైనా వంటి దేశాలు ఈ సమస్య ఇప్పటికే ఎదుర్కొంటున్నాయి.

దేశమంటే మట్టి కాదోయ్ దేశమంటే మనుషులోయ్ అని గురజాడ అన్న మాటలను సీరియస్ గా తీసుకున్నాము.

నదులు కలుషితం అయ్యాయి. అడవులు కుంచించుకు పోయాయి. కార్బన్ ఉద్గారాలు పెరిగాయి. నగరీకరణ శరవేగంగా జరుగుతోంది.

అతి ముఖ్యమైన విషయం. ఇంత జనాభాకు ఆహార ధాన్యాలు, త్రాగు నీరు అందించడం ఎలా ?  మన దేశం లో వ్యవసాయ యోగ్య భూమి అధికం గా ఉండటం వల్ల , నదులు, వర్షపాతం తగినంత గా ఉండటం వల్ల, కొంత మేరకు జలాశయాలు నిర్మించుకోవడం వల్ల ఆహార భద్రత సాధించ గలిగాము. 

అయితే వ్యవసాయం భారంగా మారిన పరిస్థితిలో, వ్యవసాయ భూములను అభివృద్ధి పేరుతో ఉపయోగించడం వల్ల ప్రమాదం ఉంది. వ్యవసాయ భూములు కాపాడుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది. 

వేలాది ఎకరాల సారవంతమైన భూములు సేకరించి కొత్త నగరాలు నిర్మించబూనడం సరికాదు. 

తిండి గింజలు దొరకని నాడు ఆకాశ హర్మ్యాలు, పరిశ్రమలు ఎన్ని ఉన్నా లాభం లేదు.

వేల ఏళ్ల చరిత్ర కలిగిన భారత దేశం జనసంఖ్య లో ప్రథమ స్థానం పొందడం గొప్ప విషయం. 

సంగీత దర్శకుడు - గీత రచయిత - రవీంద్ర జైన్ - కొన్ని విశేషాలు

హిందీ /ఉర్దూ చిత్ర సంగీతం విస్తృతమైనది. ఎందరో దిగ్గజ సంగీత దర్శకులు, గాయకులు, గీత రచయితలు ఉన్నారు.

అయితే హిందీ చిత్రాలుగా అందరూ అనుకునేవి నిజానికి 90% ఉర్దూ సినిమాలుగా చెప్పాలి.

బాలీవుడ్ చిత్రాల మాటలు, పాటల లో భారతీయత, శుద్ధ హిందీ భాష తక్కువ. ఉర్దూ ప్రభావం అధికం. ఇది ఒక అజెండా లాగా సాగుతోంది. సంస్కృత పదాలతో కూడిన శుద్ధ హిందీ కేవలం కామెడీ పాటలలో వినిపిస్తుంది. బాధాకరమయిన విషయం. 

అటువంటి చోట చక్కని హిందీ సాహిత్యం, భారతీయత ఉట్టిపడే సంగీతం అందించిన ఒక అరుదైన ప్రతిభావంతుడు శ్రీ రవీంద్ర జైన్ (1944-2015)

జన్మతః అంధత్వం ఉన్నా అపారమైన ప్రతిభ కలవాడు. ఎన్నో హిందీ చిత్రాలకు నిజమైన భారతీయ సంగీతం సాహిత్యాన్ని అందించాడు.

ఒక్క చిత్ చోర్ సినిమా పాటలు చాలు. ఆయన రచయితగా సంగీత దర్శకుడిగా విశ్వరూపం చూపిన చిత్రం. 

చిత్ చోర్ (1976) చిత్రం లోని అన్ని పాటలు ఆణిముత్యాలు. జేసుదాసు కు జాతీయ స్థాయిలో గొప్ప పేరు తెచ్చిన పాటలు.

All time classics గా నిలిచాయి.

ఈ చిత్రం లోని రెండు అద్భుతమైన పాటలు.

జబ్ దీప్ జలే ఆనా

తూ జో మేరే సుర్ మే

హేమలత, జేసుదాసు గారు అద్భుతంగా పాడారు. 

అలాగే గీత్ గాతా చల్ చిత్రం లోని 

ఈ పాట. ఎంత హాయిగా ఉంటుంది 

పాటల సాహిత్యం సంగీతం చిత్రీకరణ లో సాత్వికత నిండి ఉంటుంది.

ఆయన పాటల సాహిత్యం లోని పరిమళానికి ఒక ఉదాహరణ.

चाँदी सा चमकता ये नदिया का पानी रे

पानी की हर इक बूंद देती ज़िन्दगानी

अम्बर से बरसे ज़मीन पे गीरे

नीर के बिना हो भैया काम ना चले

ओ भैया काम ना चले, ओ मेघा रे

जल जो न होता तो ये जग जाता जल, 

गीत गाता चल ओ साथी गुनगुनाता चल।

జలం లేని జగం జ్వలించి పోతుంది అన్న భావం जल అన్న పదంలో చెప్పిన తీరు అద్భుతం.

ఇది కపటం లేని మనసులో నుంచి సహజంగా వచ్చిన సాహిత్యం. 

ఎన్ని సార్లు విన్నా fresh గా అనిపిస్తుంది.

రామాయణ్, శ్రీ కృష్ణ వంటి అమిత ప్రాచుర్యం పొందిన దూరదర్శన్ ధారావాహికలకు చిరస్మరణీయమైన సంగీతం సమకూర్చారు.

రవీంద్ర జైన్ ఎన్టీఆర్ గారి బ్రహ్మర్షి విశ్వామిత్ర (1991) తెలుగు చిత్రానికి కూడా మంచి సంగీతం అందించారు.

NTR garu was a true artise at heart. పౌరాణిక చారిత్రక పాత్రలు పోషించాలి అన్న తపన ఆయన లో ఉండేది. ఆయన స్వంతంగా నిర్మించి / దర్శకత్వం వహించి / నటించి కొంతవరకు తృప్తి చెందారు. వీరబ్రహ్మేంద్ర స్వామి చరిత్ర, శ్రీనాథ కవిసార్వభౌముడు, బ్రహ్మర్షి విశ్వామిత్ర, అక్బర్ సలీం అనార్కలి .. ఈ చిత్రాలు అప్పట్లో అంతగా ఆదరణ పొందలేదు. కానీ ఎన్టీఆర్ అభిరుచికి గుర్తుగా నిలిచిపోయాయి.

పాట బాణీ, వాయిద్యాల కూర్పు, సాహిత్యం, పి సుశీల, జేసుదాసు గారి గానం అద్భుతంగా ఉన్నాయి.

Melodious , Ethnic, Rooted, Unpretentious,lyrical, rhythmic, Respectful towards Nature and traditions.

పరుగు ఆపడం ఒక కళ (ల) - random thoughts

శోభన్ బాబు గారి మీద ' పరుగు ఆపడం ఒక కళ ' అనే మంచి శీర్షికతో ఒక పుస్తకం అప్పట్లో వచ్చింది. 

నిజమే. ఏదో ఒక దశలో ఇంక చాలు ఇక తప్పుకుంటాను అనుకోవడం మంచి నిర్ణయమే. ఉద్యోగం, వృత్తి, వ్యాపారం, నటన, క్రీడలు, ఇతర వృత్తులు, వ్యాపకాలలో తగిన సమయం లో చూసి నిర్ణయం తీసుకోవాల్సి ఉంటుంది. 

To firm up one's mind to call it a day is often not so easy for many.

Many a time  we deliberately fail to read the writing on the wall. People try to hang on well past their sell by date.

They will be either gradually ignored or gracefully shown the door or even  unceremoniously dumped.

ఈ పేచీలు లేకుండా చాలామంది ఉద్యోగులకు 60 - 65 ఏళ్లకు పదవీ విరమణ ఉంటుంది.

మరికొంతమందికి కంపెనీలు ' స్వచ్ఛంద ' పదవీ విరమణ లు ప్రకటిస్తాయి.

ఒకప్పుడు ఉద్యోగం వస్తే job for life అనుకునే వారు. ఇప్పుడు పరిస్థితులు వేరు. Voluntary retirements and layoffs seems to be the new normal.

ముఖ్యంగా రాజకీయ నాయకులు, సినిమా హీరోలకు retire అవ్వడం tire అవ్వడం ఇష్టం ఉండదు. వారికి అభిమానులు, అనుచరులు అంతగా అలవాటు అయిపోయి ఉంటారు. Lime light, prominenence, power,  influence లేని జీవితాన్ని ఇష్టపడరు అనిపిస్తుంది. అందుకే ఏదో ఒక విధంగా కొనసాగాలని అనుకుంటారు. Some actors and politicians are quite successful in prolonging their careers.

కొందరు సినిమా హీరోలు తమ చరిస్మా బలం తో రాజకీయరంగం ప్రవేశం చేస్తారు. అయితే the two professions need different sets of skills. Politics need a different  methodology. 

సినీ పరిశ్రమలో రాజకీయం, అలాగే రాజకీయ రంగంలో నటన  కూడా ఉంటుంది.

విరమణ అనేది  హీరోలు, రాజకీయ నాయకులకే కాక గాయకులు, సంగీత దర్శకులు, రచయితలు, కవులు, ఇంకా అనేక ఇతర రంగాలకు సంబంధించిన విషయం.

మన భారతీయ జీవన విధానం లో ఒక వయస్సు వచ్చాక తమ సంతానానికి బాధ్యతలు అప్పజెప్పి వానప్రస్థం స్వీకరించమని చెప్పారు. 

సరైన సమయంలో మలితరానికి పెద్దరికం అప్పజెప్పి తప్పుకోక పోతే తదుపరి జీవితంలో కుదుపులు తప్పవు.

Especially in respect of performing arts, one should definitely make a smooth transition from being a performer to a mentor.

వృత్తి విద్యా నిపుణులు, వైద్యులు, ఉపాధ్యాయులు, న్యాయవాదులు, పాత్రికేయులు.. తమకు ఆసక్తి, ఓపిక, శక్తి ఉన్నంత కాలం పని చేస్తుంటారు. 

ప్రత్యేక నైపుణ్యాలు ఉన్నవారు తమ తరువాతి తరానికి తమ skillsets అందించే ప్రయత్నం, మార్గదర్శకులు గా వ్యవహరించడం బాగుంటుంది.

Vintage Ilayaraja music -సంగీత విభావరి - కొన్ని సంగీత కబుర్లు

ఇటీవల గచ్చిబౌలి లో జరిగిన సంగీత విభావరి లో మేస్ట్రో ఇళయరాజా ఇలా అన్నారు.

శ్రోతలు ఒక పాట విని ఆనందిస్తున్నారు. వినకముందు ఆ పాట ఎక్కడ నుంచి వచ్చింది? విన్న తరువాత ఏమైపోయింది ? అరె ఏమైందీ? ఈ మాటలు విన్నప్పుడు,

ఎందుకో గానీ పాట లాగే  జగత్తు కూడా  సృష్టికి పూర్వం లయకు పశ్చాత్ ఎక్కడ ఉంటుంది అనిపించింది. The time scales may differ but a song or the universe are similar in terms of ephemerality.

ఈ కార్యక్రమం లో కొన్ని మంచి పాటలు వినిపించారు. ముఖ్యంగా విభావరి జోషి అనే గాయని ఇంకా శ్వేత మోహన్ కార్తీక్ బాగా పాడారు అని నాకు అనిపించింది.

Even though we heard the songs many times, the freshness, melody, interludes and the fabulous singing have a lasting appeal for Ilayaraja music. 

1980-90 was the period he was in peaks. In later years he could not create the same kind of magic. Post 2000, his tunes were not so popular. 

అన్వేషణ చిత్రం లోని కీరవాణి చిలకలా కలకలా పాడలేదు పాట ఒక masterpiece. కీరవాణి రాగం లో ఉన్న సినిమా పాటల్లో అగ్ర తాంబూలం ఈ పాటకు చెందుతుంది.  కష్టమైన పాట. విభావరి జోషి బాగా పాడింది.

ఇళయరాజా ఓ ప్రియా ప్రియా పాట BGM compose చేసిన విధానం వివరించిన తీరు ఆకట్టుకుంది. కోరస్, వివిధ వాయిద్యాలు విడివిడిగా పలికించి ఆ తరువాత కలిపి ఒక్కటిగా వినిపించి నప్పుడు కలిగే అనుభూతి బాగుంది. 

Composing and synthesising different musical instruments is a complex job. If the final effect is pleasant it becomes a melody or else ends up as cacophony.

ఆస్కార్ అవార్డు పొందటానికి మాటే మంత్రము వంటి పాటను మించిన పాట ఉంటుందా .

Probably the Song of the century. 

ఏమైనా కార్యక్రమం లో SP బాలు గారు లేని లోటు కనిపించింది.

DSP ఇళయరాజా పై తనకు ఉన్న అభిమానాన్ని  చక్కగా చెప్పాడు.

It seems young people too came in sizeable numbers to view the show.

కొన్ని దశాబ్దాలుగా ఒక ఇళయరాజా అభిమానిగా కొన్ని observations 

1) పి సుశీల గారి తో ఎక్కువ పాటలు పాడించ లేదు అన్న అసంతృప్తి.

2) స్వయంగా తమిళం లో ఎన్నో పాటలు పాడారు. I don't think his voice is very pleasant. కొన్ని రకాల పాటలకు ఓకే. హీరోలకు సూట్ కాదు. అవే పాటలు బాలు లేదా జేసుదాసు గార్లు పాడి ఉంటే బాగుండేది.

3) he over used trumpet in many songs which is not a great instrument. Instead saxophone 🎷 would be better.

4) Due to overwork his music became repetitive and quality suffered in a few movies.

5) he could not adapt his music with modern trends. In this aspect I think Keeravani did well by reinventing his music.

Yes. We love Ilayaraja's vintage songs.  Probably the finest composer of Indian film music. A living legend 🙏
